The goal of the NERC Mitigation Program is to raise electric transmission towers to ensure wire heights conform to NERC's GO-95 standard, for PG&E, one of the largest utilities in the US.  In this diverse service territory, each project presents a unique set of challenges.  For example, we have used helicopters to fly linemen and cage-tops to towers in remote mountain locations, and we have used cranes to pick and replace wood poles along a roadside. 

·   Manage a team of five employees and report to Burns & McDonnell Section Manager

·   Forecast projects on a monthly/yearly basis, report against cost and schedule variances monthly

·   Created and maintain 500 cost loaded Primavera schedules

·   Coordinate with PG&E GC crews to balance resource use across system

·   Maintain Purchase Order log to provide project managers contract commitment information

·   Create spending approval documents to confirm projects are not held up for gate approval

·   Use SAP to create cost and commitment reports to create job estimates

·   Update weekly status report to client, covering project completions, discrepancies mitigated, cumulative spend, variances to plan, as well as issues, risks, and accomplishments.

Provided project controls support for gas pipeline projects, including in-line inspection/pigging, hydro-test and leak repair to maintain integrity of PG&E capital infrastructure.

Fast paced and challenging project to deploy new cellular sites in Northern California, with added emphasis placed on San Francisco and Silicon Valley.  The number of sites “on-air” delivered bolstered the AT&T’s status as the top cellular carrier.

·   Developed and monitored schedules for AT&T New Site Build Project (N. California market)

·               Validated schedule dates between Ericsson and AT&T databases and trued up anomalies daily

·   Identified pre-construction schedule delays for site acquisition team to expedite

·   Created T1 tracking report to identify critical dates for material delivery

·   Produced monthly cash flow projection reports based on final site true-ups

Worked on several project teams to provide P6 scheduling and project controls support.  Projects varied from modification projects conducted during nuclear power plant outages, applications for new power plants, and a proposed design for new nuclear test facilities for the US Department of Energy.

·   Lead scheduler for Los Alamos National Laboratory (DOE) CMRR ($16M yearly budget) and Exelon ($20M) project teams.

·   Created and maintained Primavera P6 resource by role loaded schedule, assisted technical leads in resource leveling, and reported on earned value

·   Implemented WBS to new projects, assigned budgets, tracked scope changes and man-hour charges to accurately assess status and potential cost overruns

Bechtel, Project Controls Engineer - Schaumburg, IL

November 2004 – April 2008

This program for AT&T included new site builds and modifications to existing cellular towers.  Apple's original iPhone release occurred during this project, which led to a large amount of capacity related scope.  Main achievement was creating a status report that was issued weekly to the AT&T Central Regional Manager. 

·   Performed cost analysis and control using MS Access; Central Region revenue for 450 new site builds was approximately $60M

·   Verified cost commitments had been allocated appropriately and assigned budgets to awarded work

·   Captured all “Out of Scope” costs that have been mutually agreed upon in the prime and billed client accordingly; assign, identify, and track scope on sites

·   Created forecast reports to monitor to-go job hours vs. remaining scope to assist management to create staffing plans

·   Responsible for gathering final costs from subcontractors prior to site true up and close out

·   Created final scope sign off billing sheets for final true up payment from the client

·   Maintained MS Access database of purchase orders by line item

·   Created service requisitions to contractors to award base and out of scope work
